Exercise At Home Using Resistance Bands

Posted under Fitness by Don

You hear this at your local gym all the time. Yo! Can I get a quick spot? Aside from “whadaya bench” or “how many sets do you have left”, it’s easily the most frequently asked question in any gym. Each day in weight rooms across the country, people summon over complete strangers and willfully entrust them with the responsibility of making sure a weight doesn’t completely obliterate them. That’s quite a leap of faith, considering that the average gym-goer has absolutely no clue of how to give a good spot. Either they give you too much help and ruin your set, or they stand idly by allowing you to turn several shades of purple before even attempting to lift the weight off of you. Or, worse yet, they spot you from the wrong place and end up putting you at risk of serious injury.

Therefore, wouldn’t it make more sense not to have to rely on someone else to a workout, and better still, wouldn’t it be good being able to do your workouts from the comfort of your own home, or hotel room, instead of some sweaty gym which never has machines available and charges some ridiculous membership fee.

The answer? Resistance training. More specifically resistance band exercises. Using a resistance band which will only set you back about 10 dollars, you can do any number of hundreds of different exercises which workout different parts of the body to develop both lower and upper body strength, build muscle, or lose fat. The fruther you stretch the resistance band, the more resistance you are creating, which in turn is stressing the muscles. Some resistance band exercises include the resistance band squats, resistance band press ups, resistance band bicep curls, resistance band tricep kickbacks, resistance band reverse flies, and resistance band bent over flies. These are only a few of the many exercises you can do with resistance bands.
