Drinking Water is Healthy for You

Drinking water before a meal helps you to eat less. After drinking water, you will get a full sensation and not try to put so much food in. Recommendations are to drink 8 glasses each day. Studies have shown that the metabolic rates (calorie burning rates) increased significantly after drinking water. It is interesting to note that much of this rate increase is attributed the body’s attempt to heat the water ingested. This is probably why some believe that drinking cold water burns more calories in that there is more work involved in order to heat it, which means water can help you lose weight.

Do something about water boredom. Many who don’t drink enough water give as their first excuse that it is tasteless and just boring to drink. The best way to cure this is to put in a slice of lime or lemon to give it a little flavor. There are also flavored waters you can buy but be careful that they are not loaded with sugar that could put weight on you.

Water helps improve muscle tone. If you just lose weight but don’t build up muscle, your body will become flabby as the extra pounds come off. So, you need to drink plenty of water in between weight sets in order to build muscle. Muscle tissue burns more calories so the result is that your weight stays in check. Water is also good for keeping your skin looking young and healthy.
