Supplements and the secret on how to lose belly fat

Before I get into supplements, pills, powders and magic potions that promise the world yet all to often under deliver I would like to get one thing straight!

There is no magic bullet for fat loss and no guaranteed easy way to get perfectly sculptured flat abs without doing any exercise and eating all the junk food that you want. That said, the use of protein, vitamin and amino acid supplements can help supercharge your fat loss by helping to add more lean muscle to your body as well as providing your body with an added boost to help you get the most from a well planned exercise regime.

Before I get too much into supplements, let me just outline the importance of muscle mass where it concerns fat loss. Most people are led to believe that the best way to burn fat is by cardio training or running. But what many people don’t fully realize is that there is a much more effective and efficient way to burn fat, and that is by adding muscle mass.

Adding muscle mass is the one surefire way to fat loss and here’s why. If you think of your muscle mass as being the engine of a car that is an engine of a car needs fuel to operate much like your muscles do.

Which car is going to use the most energy? The car with a small engine, or the car with the larger engine? Of course the car with the larger engine will need more fuel, even at idle the car with the larger engine will use more fuel although much more so at work.

The same goes for your body and increasing your overall muscle mass, whether it’s for a weight loss program or weight gain program. The more muscle mass you add to your body the more fuel is required to maintain the increased muscle. Even while you sleep your body will burn more fuel having more muscle mass.

While cardio work such is running is great at burning a greater amount of fuel while you run, muscle requires energy non stop so therefore increasing your body’s muscle mass will help you to burn more fuel 24/7 non stop.

Therefore the real ’secret’ for using dietary supplements, and in particular a protein powder supplement in particular, is to support the building of muscle mass in order to increase your body’s daily average energy expenditure which in turn helps you to get on the freeway to fat loss.
